Whistleblower and False Claims Act Cases

Brooks Law Group represents corporate and institutional clients in government investigations predicated by whistleblower complaints and litigates fraud cases brought by company insiders under a variety of whistleblower statutes. Firm attorneys have worked with whistleblowers in cases resulting in the return of hundreds of millions of dollars to federal and state governments and worked with whistleblower clients to secure recoveries against large pharmaceutical companies, health care providers, and for-profit universities.  Firm attorneys have litigated under Federal and State False Claims Acts and brought cases under the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) whistleblower programs. Firm attorneys also have strong relationships with prominent criminal defense attorneys and assist clients with criminal investigations and white-collar defense in tandem with these attorneys.

As one of the founding partners at his prior firm, Justin Brooks was part of a team that secured one of the largest ever settlements in a non-intervened False Claims Act case, securing $280 million for state and federal governments on the eve of trial. The Court’s Opinion denying summary judgment is here. He has litigated many other multi-million dollar cases.

Brooks Law Group is currently assisting a corporate client in a government investigation and working on a range of whistleblower matters, including fraudulent billing of Medicare and Medicaid for medically unnecessary services and fraudulently obtaining loans under the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”) established during Covid.
